ENERGY STORAGE STATIONS
Energy Storage Stations
What is needed now is a new energy option: storage.
KULR builds and operates energy storage stations of the 2 MW / 8 MWh class.
OVERVIEW
What does an energy storage station do?
Store surplus electricity. Send it when it is short.
Solar and wind generate power at hours that do not match when it is used. Surplus electricity from midday is stored and used in the evening and at night, when demand rises. Electricity that used to be curtailed and lost is put to use instead. An energy storage station closes that gap so that society uses electricity efficiently.

SAFETY
Safety
Because it stands close to people.
-
Design that contains heat
If one cell fails, it does not spread to its neighbours. KULR thermal management technology, proven in space, is applied to the station.
-
24-hour remote monitoring
Every site is watched around the clock. A fault is detected even with no one on site.
-
Noise control
Silencers and other measures keep noise down for the surroundings. Levels at the site boundary are provided for each site.
BUSINESS
How the business works
From construction to operation, KULR does it all.
KULR operates the energy storage stations it builds. Stations connected to the grid are expected to operate in the wholesale electricity market (JEPX), the balancing market, and the capacity market.
Large stations are not the whole picture. Low-voltage storage systems installed at municipalities and facilities are aggregated remotely and operated together as balancing capacity. This is possible because KULR monitors the state of every unit at all times.
